What is ACoS?
ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sales) = Ad Spend ÷ Ad Sales × 100. A 25% ACoS means you spent $25 in ads for every $100 in sales generated. Lower is better — but your ideal ACoS depends on your profit margin. Use the break-even ACoS above to know your true target.
What is ROAS?
ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) = Ad Sales ÷ Ad Spend. A 4x ROAS means every $1 spent on ads returned $4 in sales. Most profitable Amazon brands target ROAS above 4x, though this varies by category and margin.
What is TACoS?
TACoS (Total ACoS) = Ad Spend ÷ Total Sales × 100. Unlike ACoS which only measures ad-attributed sales, TACoS accounts for your entire revenue — including organic. A dropping TACoS over time means your organic rank is improving as your PPC builds momentum.
What is Break-Even ACoS?
Break-even ACoS = (Revenue - COGS - FBA fees - Referral fee) ÷ Revenue × 100. This is the maximum ACoS you can afford before every ad-driven sale starts losing money. Always keep your actual ACoS below this number.
